The head of HR will be responsible for human capital growth and internal culture management, including headcount planning and talent acquisition, compensation and benefits benchmark and structuring, talent, leadership development as well as employment compliance. 

Our Head of HR must be able to engage in hands-on operational tasks as well as the ability to view things in a conceptualized, strategic view to ensure company sustainability and growth in terms of human capital.

To be successful in this role, he/she must demonstrate sound experience and knowledge in scaling teams in high technology and digital game sectors. He/she will also have to work directly with various stakeholders and teams across the globe, therefore, it would be critical to possess a high level of agility with cultural sensitivity, able to work with various people from different backgrounds.

responsibilities

  • Work with key stakeholders to capture and understand business needs, to build and manage headcount planning and hiring requirements for both short and long strategic terms
  • Analyze the internal situation to plan and execute strategic initiatives to deliver best HR practices including but not limited to employees’ experiences and well-being, employment compliances, talents management, and talent developments
  • Be the champions in HR policies communication for employees and act as a close partner when it comes to employee inquiries and support
  • Work with counterparts in other regions to continue to develop and improve HR practices for sustainability of organizational growth toward short-term and long-term future
  • Work with stakeholders to identify high potential talents and map out key development opportunities for strategic talents and talent succession pipeline
  • Take the lead role in organizational transformation, culture as well as ensure the leadership team maintains a high level of leadership capabilities to manage arising workforce issues

requirements

In order to succeed in this role, the candidate should possess a solid background and experience in HR management, which demonstrates experience in fast-scaling tech companies with operations across different regions. Ideally, the candidate should also have hands-on experience in organizing HR workflow and planning out strategic direction while having a strong awareness of maintaining organizational culture. A strong candidate would possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR management, Organizational Psychology, or similar disciplines
  • Proven track records with strong experience in working with multiple teams across different cultures and jurisdictions
  • Exposure to tech startups, game studios, and hi-tech environments
  • Possess a clear understanding or enthusiasm for blockchain technology and cryptocurrency

As much important as being a strong technical expert, the head of HR must have strong skills in people management to succeed in this role. He/she must be able to demonstrate that they can become a role model to embrace the company culture and grow the team to its full potential, not only in size but also in the quality of skill set.

More specifically, he/she must be able to demonstrate certain competencies as:

  • Able to effectively communicate and inspire team members to perform at their full potential
  • Able to act as a trusted partner in regard to the subject matter of hiring, employment compliances, employees engagement, and leadership development
  • Able to conceptualize and draw out a strategic plan to help scale the company, while maintaining company cultures and growth sustainability
  • Possess strong ability to grasp new concepts, and take on new challenges when required
